What this work gives Aellic

EMG comparison of eight back exercises in 19 trained participants: rowing movements activate the middle trapezius most strongly, pull-up and chin-up the latissimus.

Correction of 25 July 2026

What was measured was the MIDDLE and LOWER trapezius, never the upper — and the study does not say that rowing barely loads the latissimus; it assigns the best exercise per muscle. Commissioned research without journal publication, and graded accordingly.
